protecting planet by creating carbon neutral products through CO2 offset

The Filtral group accepts responsibility for environmental and climate protection by voluntarily investing in compensation schemes to offset greenhouse gases generated in the production of its sunglasses and reading glasses. For example, more than 5,500 tonnes of CO2 have been offset since 2012. In order to achieve the CO2 compensation target, Filtral works with its independent partner natureOffice. On Filtral’s behalf, natureOffice records all data on raw materials, production, further processing and transport, before using this information to calculate the emissions balance of Filtral products. CO2 offsetting activities are coordinated within the framework of Filtral’s support for the PROJECT TOGO reforestation project.

In actual fact, PROJECT TOGO is a holistic climate protection project with aims that go beyond simply reforesting natural areas of West Africa. It also combines initiatives for the protection of nature and the environment with targeted efforts aimed at expanding and improving social structures in the area. With its commitment to this project, the Filtral group is keen not only to play its part in protecting the climate, but also to make a real difference in improving the lives of local people.
