The uvex group, which has been able to steadily increase its revenue in recent financial years (FY 2018/19: EUR 475 million), is experiencing further growth. The Fürth-based family business has acquired 35,000 square metres of land in the South II industrial estate of the Rednitzhembach municipality. A new logistics and service location is to be built there. The aim is to replace the existing logistics centre in Schwabach, whose capacities are increasingly being exhausted due to the successful growth of the globally active group of companies.
"After an intensive search, we finally found what we were looking for in Rednitzhembach," explains Georg Höfler, CFO of the uvex group. "We are very pleased with the municipality's commitment to the 35,000 square meters of space, which exactly meets our needs. The prime location in the heart of the Nuremberg metropolitan region and the physical proximity to the existing uvex safety logistics centre in Schwabach offer optimal conditions for continued value-oriented growth," says Georg Höfler. The new location in Rednitzhembach is not only intended to offer prospects for the employees in Schwabach. In the long term, the uvex group expects to create many more attractive jobs for the region in the modernised logistics and service centre.
Jürgen Spahl, 1st mayor of the municipality of Rednitzhembach, is also looking forward to future joint cooperation: "The municipality of Rednitzhembach is proud of this global company in the southern industrial park. uvex is a potent partner. As the new uvex group building is the southernmost building in Rednitzhembach, it will certainly be an eye-catcher," said the uvex group's further plans for the construction of the new logistics location are currently underway. The company expects the building application to be submitted before the end of 2020. Completion and commissioning are targeted for the end of calendar year 2023.
