Awarded for innovation, performance and design and as an employer

Shortly before the end of the 2019/20 financial year, the uvex group is at the top of the winners' podium in many of its disciplines: In terms of innovative strength and manufacturing expertise, as well as performance and design and attractiveness as an employer, the family-owned company, headquartered in Fürth, Franconia, has received numerous awards over the past six months. The awards range from individual products and cross-media brand campaigns to the group as a whole.

"In addition to worldwide value-oriented growth, one of our declared goals is to lead the market with our innovations," explains Michael Winter, managing partner of the uvex group. "For almost 95 years we have been working hard on our mission protecting people in their jobs, sports and leisure activities. The large number of current awards - presented by a wide range of external institutions - confirm that we are on the right track," says Winter. Incidentally, inventiveness and innovative ability are stimulated by the constant transfer of know-how between the two divisions sports and occupational safety. The uvex group develops and manufactures around 71 percent of its products and services itself in its own production facilities, many of them in Germany and Europe. The value chain is thus in the hands of the globally active group of companies.

The uvex i-5 safety spectacles receive the Red Dot Product Design Award 2020 and the Plus X Award 2020 for their strong performance and sporty design. This is followed by the innovative uvex megasonic full-vision goggles, which open up a maximum field of vision for the wearer by means of a new lens shape and additionally received a Pro-K Award 2020. "Maximum visibility with pleasant wearing comfort. Visibility and safety combined in the best possible way," was the jury's verdict. The uvex safety group also secured a place on the winners' podium with the uvex 1 G2 safety shoe, which won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2020 and the IF Design Award 2020. In addition to the design language, the expert panel was impressed by the new uvex i-PURE sole technology, which returns the energy of footfall to the wearer over the entire sole, redefining cushioning and wearing comfort.

ALPINA, a brand of the uvex sports group, was awarded the German Brand Award in Gold 2020. The competition honours the most innovative brand appearances and creative campaigns. Just in time for the company's 40th anniversary, ALPINA was chosen as the winner in the category "Excellent Brands - Sports & Outdoor Goods" for its superbly executed brand relaunch in a fresh 80s look.

FOCUS Money awards Germany's most innovative companies with the Innovation Award 2020. Among them is the uvex sports group, which also received an innovation award at the beginning of the year for the new edition of its classic, which was awarded to uvex downhill 2000 with uvex colorvision technology. The SkiMAGAZIN editorial team awarded the prize for improved detail perception and the "supravision antifog" coating of the popular ski goggles.

The uvex group employer brand is also on course for success. Particularly noteworthy is the "Top career opportunities for women" seal of approval awarded by the magazine FOCUS. For women in particular, family-friendliness of the employer, equal rights and career opportunities are important decision-making factors. "We are very pleased that we are able to score points again and again as an attractive employer," explains Michael Winter. "We are convinced that firmly anchored equal opportunities and diversity lead to greater satisfaction among employees and thus ultimately to greater success in the organization".
